Both the construction and consumer goods industries are characterized by fierce and increasingly international competition. Products are becoming increasingly similar, and the growing presence of external suppliers, along with the complexity of international sourcing, makes it difficult to attain significant production cost advantages. To thrive in this globalized and competitive environment, companies need to develop unique selling propositions (e.g., through services) in addition to the product itself. This requires an understanding of customer needs, creativity, the courage to adapt, and strength in execution.
With over 20 years of professional experience, I’ve learned that thinking beyond one’s own industry is not only beneficial, but often triggers transformative processes. "Thinking outside the box", the willingness to think across industries and to transfer best practices, has also shaped my own professional career. Over the years, I’ve worked in various companies and industries across Germany, the Netherlands, South America, and the USA – from a global player in the consumer goods sector to a traditional European medium-sized company in the HVAC/building services industries, to a social media-driven e-commerce start-up. Whether in large corporations or small start-ups, placing the right people in key positions can make all the difference!
Based on my own experience, I understand what it takes to successfully manage the international expansion of a medium-sized German building materials retailer. I will find the managers for you who have the emotional intelligence to maintain established practices and, where necessary, to develop them with new ideas while driving change - individuals who not only excel professionally, but are also sensitive in dealing with people, corporate values, and cultures. It was this aspect, in particular, that motivated me to train as a systemic coach in addition to my business studies.
